Our November event was a great success. We'll be announcing our next 2012 event soon.Tim HuntWhat can the Moodle quiz do for you?Online testing holds many promises: automated marking; instant feedback and any-time access for learners; and detailed reporting and analysis. The Moodle quiz is a powerful assessment tool which has constantly evolved to meet the demands of organisations. Understanding it's potential is crucial to make informed decisions about Moodle course design. As well as giving a general overview of how to use the Moodle quiz, Tim will highlight with examples some of the new features that have been added in recent versions of Moodle. Tim has been the developer responsible for the Moodle quiz module and question bank since 2006. He is a Leading Developer working at the Open University and runs one of the largest Moodle sites in the world. From August 2008 to August 2009 Tim worked at Moodle Headquarters in Perth, Australia. Alistair CockroftUsing Moodle for Rapid E-Learning DeploymentFour months, 1500 users to be inducted and five core subjects to assess them on. With time and money being sparse resources, creative thinking and a 'can-do' attitude can go a long way. This large NHS Trust’s Moodle implementation so far has been a case of hitting the ground sprinting but thanks to some excellent development tools and Moodle a great deal has been achieved and the organisation is now moving from strength to strength. Moodle and Rapid Development tools were used to create an online induction package for an organisation that grew from 5000 to 6500 staff in the space of a few months. Alistair has been involved with learning technology for over fifteen years and for the last eleven has helped make e-learning a day-to-day part of life for the staff within a large NHS Trust. Tenacity and a user-experience focussed approach has helped Alistair guide the organisation to a position of zero online learning to the majority of statutory and mandatory training being completed online.
